正式名称「皇軍シンガポール敵前上陸猛攻撃の図」。太平洋戦争初期に、日本軍が当時のイギリスの植民地シンガポールを攻略した時の絵です。1942年（昭和17）圧倒的に優位だったイギリス軍を日本軍は打ち負かし、当時の首相チャーチルは「英国史上で最悪の災難で、最大の敗北だ。」と述べたそうです。日本が負けた太平洋戦争後、GHQの撤収を免れた戦意高揚を図る太平洋戦争の絵馬が残っているのは全国でも珍しいのです。

In 1942 in the Pacific War, the Japanese troops defeated the British ones and took over the sovereignty of Singapore. After Japan was defeated by the U.S. in 1945, anything which promoted the war or used for the propaganda was eliminated by the order of U.S. government. This ema is very rare and valuable as a historic proof of that era.
